One day out which isn’t reliant on the famous Welsh weather is a trip out to the cinema to see a Hollywood blockbuster or maybe a low-key indie classic. Whether with or without the kids, there are many brilliant movies showing near lodges North Wales at Galeri Caernarfon this March.

What better way to start off the month than with the complete trilogy of one of the best animations to ever hit the big screen? Toy Story is adored by young and old and you can catch the whole series of the adventures of Woody and co. on the 2nd of March for just £7!

A slightly more adult affair but suitable for teenagers over the age of 15, Hot Fuzz is a laugh riot romp in the brilliant Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy by Edgar Wright, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The film follows a top police officer who is re-assigned to a sleepy town for doing his job too well though all is not as it seems…Catch this comedy classic on the 2nd of March at 7pm.

Tolkien fans can rejoice as the second part in the massively popular Hobbit trilogy will be playing at Galeri on the 3rd of March. Lauded by critics and fans, The Desolation of Smaug is a great experience for the whole family and tickets are available for as little as £3.50.

Saving Mr. Banks has had quite the reception since its release and is available at Galeri on two occasions for the 19th of March. The film chronicles the production of the classic Mary Poppins film with superb performances from both Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson as Walt Disney and P.L. Travers respectively.

One film which is set for award glory and deservedly so is 12 Years a Slave: a truly moving account of a free black man who is sold into slavery in pre-Civil War USA. After being handed around to various plantation owners, Solomon Northup endures all forms of turmoil and although it is not an easy watch for some, it is completely captivating and will leave you speechless. Catch the acclaimed picture by Steve McQueen on the 26th of March.
