We all have a little bit of the nerd inside us, whether we deny it or not. An event which seeks to bring out the inner geek in us is the Sci-Fi Weekender in Pwlheli in March, a great excursion for the big kid inside you when you stay at lodges in Snowdonia.

In its fifth edition, this event is going from strength to strength and continues to bring in the fans that are eager to meet their idols. Over the 27th to 30th of March, expect to see stars from blockbuster films and beloved television series meeting and greeting visitors in the seaside town.

One of the most popular dwarves in the brigade of heroes from The Hobbit films, Graham McTavish will be attending this superb weekend of fun. As the dwarf Balin, the actor has risen in fame after appearances in other films such as Rambo and Colombiana which were both well-received by critics.

Any comedy fans will surely relish the opportunity to see Red Dwarf’s Warden Ackerman at the occasion. As the staid character in the 80’s sitcom, Ackerman was one of the highlights of a show that was beloved through Britain during the 80’s.

The names don’t stop coming as you can expect stars from the likes of Star Trek, Blake’s 7 and more. It’s not just famous faces from in front of the lens either as you can expect the great-grandson of J.R.R Tplkien, Royd Tolkien, to pull quite the crowd. Most impressive of the bunch has to go to the original creator of 2000AD, Pat Mills. Responsible for the likes of Judge Dredd, Mills’ signature is one that will be highly sought after to go in the autograph book for most comic book fans.

There are also plenty of fascinating workshops and Q&A’s for you to get stuck in to at this event in Pwlheli. The selection of activities is so diverse that you may even struggle to see everything in time! From videogaming to book readings and everything in between, there’s only one place to be in the north of Wales for sci-fi fans this March.
