If you’re into your literature, a fine occasion can be had at Gregynog Hall on the 9th of March when you stay at caravan parks mid Wales.

World Book Day is typically held on the 6th of March but the illustrious Gregynog has pushed back the date so as to suit demand. On this date, publishers from all over the industry help to celebrate books by selling special and exclusive editions for just £1. Previous contributors include J.K Rowling and Terry Deary and many more who all wanted to give back to youngsters.

The location of Gregynog Hall is one of the most sumptuous buildings in the whole of Wales and is the ideal place for such an occasion. Against Victorian design, it is one of the most respected estates in the country which is why it’s often used as a conference centre for a university. Across the landscape of the grounds, you can expect to see beautiful greenery and idyllic views.

Although it may not appear to be so, Gregynog is in fact eight hundred years old and has been passed down from century to century. Surviving world wars and threats of demolition are etched into the fabric of this historic estate which once housed the works of Vincent van Gogh.

At the World Book Day event this year, you can expect to become immersed in all the rich stories that the walls of the hall will tell. A short tour around its grounds is an immersive one and a trip to Gregynog’s magnificent library is one unlikely to be forgotten in a hurry.

If you like your books to be rare and limited edition then the library at Gregynog will surely provide as they’ll be unearthing many rare yet treasured books for your interest. Perhaps the perfect opportunity to tick off a couple of must reads?

The librarian will also hold a special talk of the day called ‘Treasures of the Library’ at 1pm and although the whole event is free, it could be worthwhile to book as there are likely to be limited spaces for it.

So, if you want to turn the page to the intriguing past of mid Wales, look no further than World Book Day this March 9th from 11am.
